There is an element of appreciation that I find in watching anthologies come to life on the small screen. Bad Candy is a low-budget anthology that prides itself on simplicity and practical effects that don’t go to waste. Each of the entries weaving in stories most of us know and love, adding in horror, blood, and guts to spooky up these local myths.

Till Death is a slow-burn psychological horror that is well and truly worth waiting for the action that evolves at an intense pace. Directed by Scott Dale and Staring Megan Fox, Eoin Macken, and Call Mulvey, this isolated thriller is an absolute thrill ride from start to finish.

Nia DaCosta’s 2021 Candyman has been on the tip of everyone’s tongue since the announcement of the spiritual sequel in 2019. The revival of this urban legend back to the silver screen sees an interesting and modern take on the topics and themes that were explored in the original.
