Hear Us Scream Press, founded by Australian-based horror lover Cat Benstead, is an indie publishing press dedicated to giving horror a diverse and inclusive voice. With a firm belief that horror literature should reflect the stories and experiences of othered voices, Hear Us Scream Press sets out to amplify the often-unheard voices within the genre.

Hear Us Scream is open to submissions that represent the diverse nature of the horror genre. We are open to genres that fit under the horror umbrella, if you are unsure, please email Cat via contact@hearusscream.com or use our contact form. 

What we offer:

  1. Guidance and communication throughout the editing process.

  2. Assistance with book cover creation. We have a great network of graphic designers that we can recommend and we also can help look for someone who suits you.

  3. Marketing, Public Relations and Social Media support through our channels and developing email contact list.

  4. Setting up of manuscript through Amazon KDP and IngramSpark.

  5. Pre-order and distribution listing on www.hearusscreampress.com and the printing of physical and digital versions of the release.

  6. Typesetting and manuscript preparation.

Submission Guidelines:

  • We only accept submissions via email at contact@hearusscream.com. When sending through your submission, please attach as a Word Document. Please submit complete work that is edited.

  • Include a biography, links to your social media, and website.

  • Currently, we can only accept one submission per author.

  • If your work is accepted elsewhere, please advise as soon as possible.

  • We are currently not accepting non-fiction. 

When submitting your work, you agree that the work is all of your own work. You have not plagerised OR utilised AI to assist in writing your submission.
