[REVIEW] The Unofficial Horror Movie Coloring Book

It's officially October, which means, if you're a horror fan like me, then the Fall season begins on the first of the month. It’s truly the best time of the year when the weather gets cooler, the colors get warmer, and spooky inspiration takes over my everyday lifestyle, just a little more than usual. I recently discovered a new favorite way to unwind and celebrate the season, and it involves The Unofficial Horror Movie Coloring Book by Vernieda Vergara, with illustrations inspired by scenes from horror movies by Andy Price. From classics like Psycho and Halloween to modern favorites like Get Out and Midsommar, this unofficial horror movie coloring book offers 30 Screams and Scenes to Slay.

Just the other night, I put The Exorcist on my TV for a rewatch and simultaneously colored one of its stunning inspired illustrations. There's a lot of detail on each page, allowing you to truly be involved in each scene, whether it involves mixing to achieve the perfect shade of blood red or a rotted jack-o-lantern hue. It took me the entire film's runtime to complete one page, and I didn't rush, thoroughly enjoying the calming and creative process as the film’s infamous, eerie scores filled my living room. The perfect night to only the beginning of Halloween season, I can see myself having many more nights just like this one.
